Help me, I’m poor

So, Say your boss decided to cut your hours and your salary in half. Just without notice, ups and slices that paycheck right in half. Now you are torn because you love your work peeps and the flexibility that they give you, but your pay is starting to catch up with your pocketbook.

Do you look for other jobs in hopes that they decide they just can’t live without you?

Or..

Do you stick it out and work harder to hopefully sway their minds back to revamping your salary?

Comments

  1. If you plan on staying in hopes they will revamp your salary, you may want to talk to them about this ahead of time. Ask what you can do or offer some suggestions to have your pay raised.
See why they lowered your salary and see if that can be changed.

You could also ask if they could offer some performance based bonuses. That way they won’t feel you are just asking for more money it will be a direct reflection of money to the company.

If these things don’t work and you don’t think you earn what you are worth you need to start looking for another job. Life is short and you don’t want to stay too long somewhere you are not happy.

  2. So you didn’t get any kind of justification for the pay cut? I would as for specifics at why they are paying you less and what they suggested you should do to “earn” your former salary back. If they are not willing to work with you then it might be time to move on and find another job. Good luck!
